Carter Bray MBA Scholarship

The Carter Bray MBA Scholarship is awarded to a student in the Masters of Business Administration program at the University of Prince Edward Island. The successful candidate must have a record of good academic standing and display financial need, with preference given, when possible, to permanent residents of Prince Edward Island. The scholarship has a maximum value of $3,600 and is awarded annually at various times throughout the year. The scholarship was established by Dr. James (Jim) Carter, a native Islander and UPEI Honorary Degree recipient (2008), and his wife Dr. Lorraine Bray. Dr. Carter worked for Syncrude Canada Ltd. for 28 years, contributing to improvements in environmental performance, workplace safety, and strengthening relations with Indigenous peoples. Together, Drs. Carter and Bray made substantial gifts to create an endowed fund that will provide for this scholarship in perpetuity, demonstrating their deep affection for Prince Edward Island and their commitment to supporting students striving for excellence.
