About this opportunity
The Caru Fund at the Community Foundation supports small community organisations working to tackle poverty and improve health and community safety in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. The fund provides grants to organisations that help meet basic needs for food, shelter and services, work to prevent people from falling into poverty, or provide community interventions for people and places at greatest risk. This includes healthy living activities, advice and advocacy, counselling, crisis intervention, or work on reoffending or anti-social behaviour. Applications can be for specific projects, equipment purchases, or towards running costs. The fund is specifically designed for organisations serving disadvantaged communities including those affected by poverty, unemployment, homelessness, asylum seeker/refugee status, disability and people with learning difficulties. To be eligible, organisations must have an annual income of less than £100,000.
