Catherine and Feridun Hamdullahpur Graduate Scholarship

The Catherine and Feridun Hamdullahpur Graduate Scholarship is an annual award valued at $2,000 for full-time graduate students enrolled in any master's or doctoral program at the University of Waterloo. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence, requiring a minimum 80% cumulative average in courses completed at the University of Waterloo. The scholarship was established through gifts made in honour of President Feridun Hamdullahpur. Selection is conducted automatically by Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs in consultation with Faculties, typically during the Winter term. A separate application is not required. The award alternates annually between master's and doctoral candidates and rotates by Faculty to ensure balanced distribution across all graduate programs and faculties at the university. The scholarship is open to both Canadian/permanent residents and international students holding study permits.
