About this opportunity

The Catherine C. Owen Scholarship is a one-time scholarship award of $1,500 created in memory of Catherine C. Owen of Mead, a former teacher passionate about the education of the next generation. This scholarship is funded by the bequest of Catherine C. Owen and administered by the Longmont Community Foundation. The scholarship is available to graduating seniors from St. Vrain Valley School District high schools who demonstrate financial need and plan to attend the University of Northern Colorado or an accredited Christian college or university in the United States. The scholarship recognizes students continuing their education in institutions that align with the values and educational mission Catherine C. Owen championed. The award of $1,500 is restricted to direct educational expenses including tuition, fees, required books and supplies, room and board, and other educational costs related to study at the University of Northern Colorado or an accredited Christian college or university for the upcoming fall semester. Award amounts will be split between semesters. Applicants must submit a high school transcript with fall grades, resume, financial information, essay, and recommendation letters. One scholarship winner is selected annually, with the application deadline of February 28, 2026.
