About this opportunity
The Catherine King Memorial Bursary was established by the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2001 in memory of Catherine King, a second year Business student from Imbil. This bursary supports first-year students from the Gympie Regional Council area who have a connection with the town of Imbil and/or the Gympie area.
The bursary is awarded annually to a student from the Gympie Region who is able to demonstrate academic success and financial need. Preference is given to students who are the first person in their family to attend university, creating opportunities for those breaking educational barriers in their families.
This bursary is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the bursary will not be awarded. Recipients are selected based on academic merit from first year, first semester results, demonstrated financial need, and a short statement showing their connection with Imbil and/or Gympie.
The award provides financial support of A$1,000 to assist with study-related expenses. Students must be permanent residents of Australia, Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or Permanent Australian Humanitarian Visa holders and can be enrolled in any program at UniSC.
