About this opportunity
The KAAD is the scholarship institution of the Catholic Church in Germany. This programme provides funding for Catholic applicants from Central, Eastern and South-east Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia who are proficient in German. The programme supports various academic levels including Master's students (up to 24 months), doctoral candidates (up to 36 months), researchers pursuing postdoctoral qualifications, and university teachers for research stays. Sponsorships are awarded across all subject areas except theology. The KAAD expects candidates to complete preparatory German courses in their home country and offers additional language course funding. Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic promise, social engagement and involvement in the Church, readiness to participate in inter-religious dialogue, and commitment to returning permanently to their home countries after completing the scholarship.
