Cecil and Mark Ladner Memorial Awards

The Cecil and Mark Ladner Memorial Awards are granted to full-time Faculty of Business students who have a financial need and who strive to achieve their personal excellence in academics and any athletic endeavors, including those inside and outside of the university purview. The award honours brothers Cecil and Mark Ladner who grew up in Charlottetown and were both strong in academics and extremely active in athletics. They pursued accounting as a profession, with Cecil having a long career in the health field and Mark having a distinguished career at Grant Thornton. Both were role models and mentors to many and had a huge impact on many careers. The University of Prince Edward Island's Business Program has been integral to the Ladner family as six members of the family have Business degrees from UPEI. Kevin and Kim Ladner and their family and extended family established this award to honour both Cecil and Mark for all they contributed to their families and many others.
