Cecil and Shirlee Maxson Award in Veterinary Medicine

The Cecil and Shirlee Maxson Award in Veterinary Medicine is a scholarship given to a veterinary student at Virginia Tech based on academic achievement. This award was established in honor and perpetual memory of Cecil and Shirlee Maxson's very special cat and friend 'Dr. Boo', who enriched the lives of all who knew him, as well as their other wonderful pets and the talented veterinarians who cared for them all. The scholarship recognizes veterinary students who demonstrate strong academic performance and exceptional qualities relevant to the veterinary profession.
