Cecil Segedin Undergraduate Scholarship in Engineering Science

The Cecil Segedin Undergraduate Scholarship in Engineering Science is a memorial scholarship established in 2007 in remembrance of Professor Cecil Segedin, who began teaching Engineering Mathematics at Ardmore in the 1950s and went on to establish the Department of Engineering Science in 1963. The scholarship is funded by the Cecil Segedin Endowment Fund. The main purpose of the scholarship is to assist and encourage students undertaking the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), majoring in Engineering Science. It provides financial support to domestic and international students enrolled full-time in Part II, III, or IV of a BE(Hons) or BE(Hons) conjoint degree in Engineering Science at the University of Auckland. The scholarship has a total value of up to $40,000 and varies in the number of awards offered each year. The tenure is one year, and the scholarship is awarded annually. Applications typically open around early April and close in mid-May each year.
