About this opportunity
The Centenary Fund has been established by The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich to promote community engagement by churches throughout the Diocese. The fund supports community based projects undertaken by Anglican organisations for the benefit of the wider community. Projects may include work on buildings to make them more accessible, initiatives in children's or youth work, support for parish nurses, joint projects with schools, collaboration with other organisations, and projects that support vulnerable or isolated groups. Priority is given to projects that demonstrate clear planning and strategy, reference evidence of need, and seek to work in partnership with other churches and community groups. The fund will not support the promotion of political or religious causes with overt intentional evangelism or one-off events. Applications must be from recognised Anglican bodies within the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, such as Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) or church schools. Successful projects must demonstrate consultation with the community and strong volunteer involvement.
