Chandler Harbers Bowerman Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established to support students in the School of Music at Northern Illinois University, and is in memory of Chandler Harbers Bowerman. Chandler started playing steel pan at Edmunds Academy of Fine Arts in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1984, when he was in third grade. His mother was his music teacher and steel band director, and she was mentored by Allan O'Connor, founder of the NIU Steelband Program at NIU. The scholarship provides financial support to music students and applicants will be automatically considered based on their completed General Application through the Northern Illinois University scholarship system.
