About this opportunity
This scholarship was established by Russell Henley in honor of his father, Dr. Chapin Henley, who worked hard to become a doctor and cared deeply about his patients, often treating people who couldn't pay him and making house calls. After retirement, Dr. Henley opened a medical clinic for uninsured working people. The scholarship was created to assist individuals pursuing a post-secondary education who display a desire for academic achievement. This scholarship is specifically open to employees of Idle Hour Country Club and their dependents, with the goal of helping people who are trying to better themselves through education. The fund provides up to $1,000 annually to at least one recipient per year.
