About This Opportunity

The Chapple/Bremner Scholarship supports young musicians moving into the music profession to undertake studies in singing and piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. This scholarship was established by donations and a bequest from James Chapple and is designed to help talented students pursue full-time coursework or research degrees in music performance. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, portfolio, and/or performance ability. For postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential are also considered. Applicants may be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at their discretion and will be stipulated in the offer letter to successful recipients. No application is necessary as eligible students are automatically considered as part of their admission application to the Conservatorium. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance, with coursework students needing to maintain a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 each semester. The scholarship provides financial support to help students focus on their musical studies and professional development in singing and/or piano.
