About this opportunity
The Chapter Activities Fund provides partial support for chapter activities and programs organized by AMS chapters. This fund offers semi-annual awards to help chapters organize events and programs that benefit their membership and the broader musicological community. Awards are made twice yearly, with summer and winter application cycles. The fund is designed to supplement, not replace, chapter funding sources and supports a variety of activities including speaker events, programs, and chapter-organized gatherings. Chapters can request up to $500, which can cover no more than 50% of the total project costs. Eligible expenses include speaker fees, venue costs, travel, lodging, supplies, and direct program costs such as audio-visual equipment, catering, and other event-related expenses. Funds must be used within 12 months of the award date for the purposes outlined in the proposal, and any unused funds must be returned to the AMS. This funding opportunity is restricted to duly elected representatives of AMS chapters and can only be awarded to a given chapter once within any twelve-month period.
