About This Opportunity
The Charles and Ella Elgar Bursaries are provided from a Trust Fund established by the Will of the late Ella Grace Elgar who, with her husband Charles, farmed at 'Fernside' near Featherston in the Wairarapa. These bursaries support students who have served in the New Zealand Defence Force or who are the descendants of such discharged service men and women. The bursaries are available for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, with preference given to students studying agriculture or a related science. Three awards of $1,750 each are available annually for one year's duration. Recipients are selected based on their service history or their relation's service history, area of study, academic merit, all-round achievement, and service to others.
