About this opportunity
The Charles Blackall Journalists' Scholarship is designed to support journalism students who are experiencing financial hardship, specifically to assist with accommodation expenses. This scholarship is available to students enrolled in journalism programs at RMIT University who can demonstrate financial need and have established credentials as working journalists through paid published work. The scholarship provides financial assistance to help alleviate the burden of accommodation costs during the course of study. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in either the Graduate Diploma in Journalism or the Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) program, and must have at least six months of full-time study remaining. Recipients must be the author of at least one published and paid piece of journalistic work, demonstrating their commitment to and engagement with the profession. The scholarship aims to enable talented journalism students to continue their studies without the financial stress of accommodation costs.
