About this opportunity
The Charles E. Lindblom Memorial Fellowship supports an interdisciplinary social science project by an advanced graduate student at one of the member institutions of the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences. One fellowship of $7,500 will be offered to a doctoral candidate pursuing original and interdisciplinary research in economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, and/or history. The fellowship is offered to honor Charles E. Lindblom (1917-2018), Sterling Professor of Political Science and Economics at Yale University, and to recognize the deep and lasting impact he had on the scholars with whom he worked. Applications for the 2026 competition must propose projects that evaluate the efficacy of an intervention to reduce some form of inequality around the globe, including interventions by public, nonprofit, and private organizations. Projects are expected to result in the completion of an article-length paper within one year of the award, and the successful applicant's project will be featured in a brief essay contributed to the SSRC's digital forum Items: Insights from the Social Sciences.
