Charles Gale Memorial Scholarship in Music

The Charles Gale Memorial Scholarship in Music is awarded annually on an alternating basis between music and drama students. In odd years, it is awarded to a convocating student in the Department of Music, with preference given to students studying chamber music, particularly those specializing in piano accompaniment. In even years, the scholarship goes to a convocating student in the Department of Drama. The award is based on superior academic achievement and recognizes excellence in the performing arts. This endowed scholarship was established by friends and colleagues of the late Charles Gale to honor his memory and support outstanding students in music and drama at the University of Alberta.
