About this opportunity
The Charles H. Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established as a Trust in 1925 by Mrs. W. W. Williamson and Mrs. Walter A. Harris to honor Charles H. Williamson. Originally created to provide scholarships for graduates of Lanier High School for Boys attending the University of Georgia, the scholarship evolved in 1974 to award multiple four-year college scholarships to both boys and girls from Central High School. The scholarship provides four-year college scholarships to graduates of Central High School in Macon, Georgia who plan to attend the University of Georgia. Recipients are selected based on scholastic merit, personal character, financial need, and potential to succeed. Candidates must demonstrate a caring attitude, be of high moral character, and show characteristics of positive leadership and citizenship while maintaining a minimum 2.5 GPA. The scholarship awards $10,000 per year for up to four years, with one new recipient selected annually. Prior recipients are eligible to renew the award each subsequent year for up to four years by completing required follow-ups and maintaining eligibility criteria.
