About this opportunity

The Charlottetown Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Award is awarded to a fourth year Nursing student in financial need, who reflects the qualities of the Charlottetown Hospital School of Nursing motto: treat every patient, regardless of status, as special and sacred, and fulfill their role with integrity while recognizing the dignity of each patient through all stages of life. Preference is given to students indicating a relationship to CHSON nursing alumnae or staff. The Charlottetown Hospital School of Nursing accepted its first class of nursing students in 1920 and graduated approximately 775 nurses between 1923 and 1971. The school's motto, 'Minimus Mihi' ('Whatsoever you did for one of the least of my brothers and sisters, that you did unto me'), called upon nursing students to treat every patient with dignity and respect. This endowed fund honors the legacy of the nursing school and supports nursing students in perpetuity.
