About this opportunity
The NZIF Foundation Chavasse Travel Award is a mid-career travel grant that supports forestry professionals in New Zealand. The award is open to any person employed or interested in some aspect of forestry in New Zealand to enable them to travel overseas to increase their experience and knowledge for the benefit of the forestry sector. Alternatively, the award can assist an overseas person to travel to and within New Zealand to make presentations on forestry topics to New Zealand audiences, with the application being made by a New Zealand forestry professional. The award recognizes forestry excellence and personal integrity, and aims to reward the clear dissemination and presentation of results. Named after Geoff Chavasse, who came to New Zealand from England in 1950 and made significant contributions to the forestry profession, serving as NZIF President from 1978-1980 and receiving the Kirk Horn Flask award in 1994.
