Chemistry Wardlaw Scholarship

The Chemistry Wardlaw Scholarship was established by an alumnus to support students who are studying Chemistry and reside in Lochgelly or Fife. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The scholarship provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance, which can be used towards University accommodation fees. Maintenance is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to the student's bank account from September to May, with a double payment in February. The award is paid annually for the duration of the student's undergraduate programme and is conditional upon successful completion of academic requirements to progress in the proposed subject of study. Selection is based on financial need and donor-specific criteria, specifically targeting students from Fife, particularly Lochgelly, who are studying Chemistry at undergraduate level.
