About This Opportunity
This scholarship was established by a generous donation from Pamela J Chesters CBE 1979 and Alan Chesters, in order to support students from Scotland and the Rest of the UK who are from care experienced backgrounds to pursue studies at St Andrews. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The award provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance but can be used towards University accommodation fees. Maintenance is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to the student's bank account from September to May, with a double payment in February. The scholarship is available to undergraduate students from care-experienced backgrounds across a wide range of academic disciplines at the University of St Andrews.
