About this opportunity
The Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship is a federal scholarship program for students whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while serving as a public safety officer. This scholarship is available to Pell-eligible students beginning with the 2018-2019 academic year. Eligible students must have been less than 24 years old at the time of their parent's death, or were enrolled at a college or university at the time of the parent's death. The scholarship provides recipients with the maximum scheduled Pell Grant award amount. This scholarship is administered by University Scholarships and Financial Aid at Virginia Tech and aims to support the educational pursuits of children who have lost a parent in service to their community.
