About This Opportunity

Baron Davenport's Charity provides grants to organisations established for the benefit of children and young people under the age of 25. Grants are considered for special projects, equipment and running costs. Applications from national charities should be submitted by their local branch where appropriate. Amounts awarded in this category begin at around £200 and are unlikely to exceed £1,000. Grants are always at the discretion of the Trustees. Examples of eligible organisations include uniformed groups (scouts, guides, sea cadets), groups supporting disadvantaged children, organisations providing holidays for children, groups supporting young people with learning or physical difficulties, youth clubs, faith organisations doing work specifically with young people, and playgroups. Applications are considered twice yearly with distributions made in late May/early June (Spring) and at the end of November (Autumn). Applications for the Spring distribution should be received no later than 15 March and for the Autumn no later than 15 September. No more than one application may be made in each twelve-month period.
