About this opportunity
The Children's Rights Scholarship 1 is intended for students who wish to follow the Master of Laws Advanced Studies programme in International Children's Rights at Leiden University and meet all criteria for admission. This scholarship is specifically designed for nationals of developing countries with medium or low ranking on the HDI Index who lack the financial means to follow the study programme without assistance. There are two scholarships available, each valued at €17,900, which takes the form of a contribution towards the tuition fee. The scholarship is not a full scholarship and only covers part of the total tuition fee of €22,300. Recipients must have the firm intention of returning to their home country after graduation to bring into practice the knowledge obtained during the programme, in order to improve the implementation of international children's rights in their home country. Applicants from single parent families and families depending on social assistance schemes are given priority. The scholarship duration is one year and covers only the tuition fee contribution; students must be able to fund the remainder of the tuition fee, travel, housing, and living costs.
