China Excellence Scholarship

The China Excellence Scholarship is offered by the University of Southampton to support new international postgraduate students from China. The scholarship provides £5,000 off tuition fees for students applying for an in-person postgraduate master's programme. There are 150 scholarships available, awarded on a first come, first served basis to applicants who meet specific eligibility criteria. Applicants must be residents of China eligible to pay overseas tuition fees, hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study any in-person, full-time postgraduate master's programme at Southampton, achieve a first-class honours degree or equivalent qualification from a tier A or B university, and pay their tuition fee deposit by Thursday 15 January 2026. The scholarship is designed to recognize academic excellence and attract high-achieving Chinese students to the University of Southampton. If recipients are awarded additional scholarships from the University, 50% of the China Excellence Scholarship value will be applied, provided the combined value does not exceed 100% of tuition fees.
