About this opportunity
This scheme provides funding for one year of research for visiting PhD students from China. The scholarship award is jointly funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and University College London (UCL). UCL provides full tuition fees for one year of visiting research while the CSC provides economy air travel to and from the UK, visa application fees, and an annual living allowance. One award is available for the 2026/27 academic year. Applicants must be Chinese nationals who have secured an offer of admission to UCL as a visiting PhD student and must independently secure co-funding from the CSC to cover maintenance stipend and return travel before the start of the academic year. Successful candidates must return to China upon completion of their one-year studies. Scholarships are awarded on academic merit and the basis of CSC priorities.
