About This Opportunity

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarships are available through a partnership between Durham University and the China Scholarships Council. The scholarships are open to applicants from Mainland China wishing to study for a PhD at Durham University across all disciplines. The program provides comprehensive financial support including full tuition fee coverage, annual living allowance, overseas student health cover, return airfare, and visa application fees. Funding is available for a maximum of 48 months for full-time doctoral study. The scholarship aims to support outstanding Chinese students pursuing research degrees at Durham, with 25 awards available annually for programs commencing in 2026. Successful candidates are required to return to China upon completion of their studies. The selection process involves two stages: first, Durham University evaluates all candidates and makes recommendations, then selected candidates apply directly to the China Scholarship Council for final approval.
