About this opportunity
The Chris Lewis Scholarship has been developed by Curtin University to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who demonstrate academic potential and commitment to their community. Chris Lewis has been an inspiration to both young and mature people with his courage in adversity, wonderful sporting skills and community service with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait people. He espouses great family values and has worked for the betterment of life in the community. In 2000, Chris Lewis received the John Curtin medal for his role as an Indigenous leader and his community work. The scholarship provides a cash stipend of $2,500 per semester for the expected duration of the undergraduate degree, based on a full-time study load of 200 credits per year. The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards education-related expenses. Recipients must maintain a minimum course weighted average of 50 and study at least 75 credits per study period.
