About this opportunity
The Christine Riggins Shepherd Scholarship Fund provides college scholarships to students from Lamar, Pike, Monroe, Upson, or Spalding counties in Georgia who will attend Georgia Southern University. Preference is given to applicants from Lamar County. Recipients are selected based on academic merit and financial need. Prior recipients are eligible to renew the award for up to four years of their undergraduate education career, provided they maintain eligibility criteria including the minimum cumulative GPA required to keep the HOPE Scholarship in Georgia (currently 3.00). Recipients must be completing their first undergraduate degree and must be graduates of an accredited high school in one of the eligible counties.
