About This Opportunity

The Acorn Foundation Christine Tustain Classical Music Award is valued at $2,000 and awarded to support the furtherance of studies in classical music (singing or instrumental). The award is designed to assist individuals who are undertaking or about to commence further study in preparation for a career in classical music. Applicants must provide evidence that they are engaged in, or have been accepted for, an advanced study programme or specialised course in classical music. Applications are facilitated by Creative Bay of Plenty and are assessed by a selection panel consisting of a representative from each of the classical music community, Creative Bay of Plenty, and the Acorn Foundation. To be eligible, applicants must have received at least part of their secondary education in Tauranga or the Western Bay of Plenty district and/or currently reside in Tauranga or the Western Bay of Plenty District. The application process requires details of the qualification or course, a brief portfolio of creative work (in video format), a succinct statement outlining experience, ability, reasons for applying, and the impact the award could have on the applicant and local community, and two testimonials from relevant referees.
