CIMED:s stöd till strategiska rekryteringar av seniora forskare

CIMED provides support for strategic recruitment of senior researchers to strengthen clinical research at Campus Flemingsberg and Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge. The recruitment support consists primarily of startup funding to support the initial phase of the recruitment. The support is allocated annually and decisions are made by CIMED's board after horizontal prioritization of proposed candidates. The support can be used for salaries for doctoral students, postdocs, technical staff, and other research-related costs, but not for personal salary or major infrastructure investments. Support is normally granted for 2-3 years. The program targets recruitment of professors active in clinical research at Karolinska Institutet, primarily focusing on external recruitment that can be national or international. Joint appointments between Karolinska Institutet and Region Stockholm are encouraged. The recruited person must conduct research at KI Campus Flemingsberg and, where applicable, have the majority of their clinical service at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge or the surrounding area. Applications are submitted by the responsible department head after the recruitment process is complete and a candidate has been proposed. Applications can be submitted once per year with a deadline of March 15, and decisions are made by the board at meetings in April-May. The assessment considers the candidate's publication record, external grants, supervision merits, expected contribution to the translational and clinical research environment, contribution to research networks, connection to Campus Flemingsberg profile areas, Swedish language skills, description of possible joint employment, and leadership merits.
