About this opportunity
The City of Tampa Black History Committee, Inc. (COTBHC) Presidential Scholarship is a non-renewable scholarship awarded to graduating African American high school seniors in Hillsborough County School District. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum 2.5 GPA (unweighted) and have performed community service within their community through school, church, or social/civic organizations. Applicants must complete at least 100 hours of community service and submit a comprehensive application package including an essay, references, transcripts, and biography. The essay theme focuses on leadership, discipline, and resilience, asking students to reflect on how these qualities have prepared them for the challenges of high school and beyond. This scholarship supports African American students pursuing higher education and recognizes their academic accomplishments and community contributions.
