About This Opportunity
The Claire Palmer-Jones Scholarship was established in 2008 through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation from a bequest from the estate of Mrs Claire Palmer-Jones. During her lifetime Mrs Palmer-Jones expressed her desire to assist women who were experiencing difficulty in continuing their study at the University as a result of financial hardship. This scholarship is designed to support a second or third-year female student who is experiencing financial hardship. The scholarship is targeted to students studying literature and/or modern languages. The scholarship will be awarded based on financial hardship and academic merit. Recipients are required to write a letter of thanks to the donor on receipt of the award and are expected to act as Ambassadors for Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
