Clifford and Susan Crittenden Medical Scholarship

The Clifford and Susan Crittenden Medical Scholarship is a financial aid scholarship offered through The University of Queensland's Medical Student Financial Aid Scholarships Scheme. Established in 2023 by Susan Crittenden under the Queensland Commitment match initiative, this scholarship aims to create opportunities for students pursuing medical education to ensure the sustainability of the future medical workforce and healthcare system. The scholarship is designed to support domestic students enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program who can demonstrate financial hardship. Recipients must not hold another scholarship that the Dean considers similar. The award provides at least $4,500 (limited to the annual income from the fund) for a duration of one year. Applicants must submit an online application through Student Hub with a personal statement of no more than 250 words outlining their background, circumstances, financial need, and attempts to mitigate or overcome their difficulties. Selection is based on demonstrated financial need, the strength of the personal statement, and any other matters the committee considers relevant to future academic success.
