About this opportunity
The Clifton-Whitehead Scholarship Fund was established under the will of Edward S. Whitehead, Jr. in memory of his uncle and aunt, Truman W. Clifton and Matthylde Wilson Clifton. Mr. Whitehead, who lived through the Great Depression and was stricken with cerebral palsy, had a passion for education and helping others. He established this trust to honor his relatives' memory and support worthy students in Middle Georgia. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students of good character in Middle Georgia, principally Bibb County, who need help obtaining a college education. Award winners must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be completing their undergraduate degrees. The scholarship provides approximately $1,000 per year and is renewable for up to four years for eligible recipients who maintain eligibility criteria. Prior recipients are eligible to renew the award each subsequent year of their education career.
