About this opportunity
A total of four awards are given to undergraduate or graduate students to recognize the significant contributions of co-op students to their host organization/employer and/or to their own personal learning. One award is given to an international student who has made a meaningful contribution to the outcomes and goals of the organization or to their own personal or professional development while on a co-op work term. One award is given to a student who advanced the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada Calls to Action during their work term. One award is given to a student who made a contribution to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during their work term. One award is given to a student who actively contributed toward Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives during their work term.
Students may nominate themselves, or an employer may nominate students, by completing an online form. The form prompts the student or employer to describe, in 500 words or less, how the student made a contribution to the organization and/or to their personal or professional growth, in relation to the specific award category. Approval of the recipients is made by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendation of the Co-operative Education Office.
