About this opportunity
The Coles-Douglas Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate Elementary Education majors who are residents of Coles or Douglas County in Illinois. This renewable scholarship supports students who demonstrate financial need and maintain good academic standing. Recipients must be pursuing elementary education at the undergraduate level and show strong scholarship credentials.
The scholarship is specifically designed to support students from the local community, including residents from towns such as Arcola, Arthur, Ashmore, Atwood, Camargo, Charleston, Garrett, Hindsboro, Humboldt, Lerna, Mattoon, Newman, Oakland, Tuscola, and Villa Grove. The award is renewable for students who continue their elementary education studies, maintain financial need, and keep a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The award is announced in the Spring semester and paid in the Fall semester. When all other criteria are equal, priority is given to the student demonstrating the greatest financial need. Students are automatically considered for this scholarship upon completing the General Application through the Eastern Illinois University scholarship system.
