About this opportunity
This scholarship provides financial assistance to PhD students undertaking research in Australian History at the University of Sydney. The scholarship has been established through a donation from Arthur Dudley Johnston to support doctoral candidates enrolled in the School of Humanities. Recipients must conduct research specifically focused on Australian History and hold an honours degree (first class or second class upper), master's degree with a substantial research component, or an equivalent degree in History or related field. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years for full-time students, or 50% of the full stipend rate for part-time students. Selection is based on academic merit, research proposal quality, academic references, previous research experience demonstrated through curriculum vitae, and a personal statement explaining the applicant's interest in the proposed area of research.
