Colonel Stephen F. O. Mavis Memorial Fund

The Colonel Stephen F. O. Mavis Memorial Fund provides scholarship support to graduating seniors from Hicksville High School in Ohio who have demonstrated a special interest in the study of history. Colonel Stephen F.O. Mavis was a distinguished alumnus of Hicksville High School who served with the Allied Military Government in Italy during and following World War II. Following his death in 1985, his wife and friends created this fund to honor his memory and support students in his hometown of Hicksville, Ohio in Defiance County. The scholarship is intended preferably for students who intend to pursue education beyond high school with a focus on history studies. Recipients must plan to attend an educational institution in the United States.
