About This Opportunity
Beginning in May 2020 the Community Forward Award will be granted to a second or third year student who, in a formal or informal leadership role, has devoted significant time and energy to improving campus life through their work with a student, club or society, project, campaign, or other campus community initiatives. Preference will be given to out-of-province students who identify as women. The award was created by Kate VanGerven (Class of 2013), a UPEI graduate with a BA in English who served on the UPEI Student Union executive for three years including one year as president. She created this award to encourage, recognize, and reward UPEI students who have devoted their time and energy to the learning that happens outside the classroom.
