About this opportunity

The Congressional Medal Scholarship is awarded to entering freshmen at Mississippi State University who are Congressional Medal recipients. The scholarship recognizes students who have achieved the Congressional Award, a prestigious public-private partnership program that promotes and recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in young Americans. The amount of the award is determined by the highest level of Congressional Medal achievement the student has earned at the time of admission. Three award levels are available: Bronze Medal recipients receive $500, Silver Medal recipients receive $750, and Gold Medal recipients receive $1,000. All awards are one-year scholarships disbursed equally over two semesters during the student's first year at MSU. To qualify, students must be entering first-time freshmen with a minimum 9th-11th grade GPA of 3.0 or higher and must submit both the General Scholarship Application and the specific Congressional Medal Scholarship Application through the scholarship portal, including verification from their Congressional Award state representative.
