About this opportunity
The Connie Ding International Student Scholarship is awarded to a returning full-time international student who has completed a minimum of 8 courses in the previous year with a minimum 80% average. The student must be engaged in Experiential Education (such as meeting with a career counsellor or peer mentor, participating in a job fair, or winning badges through Moodle). Additionally, the student must be engaged in an International Student Office event (such as the Buddy Program, Language Exchange Program, Global Village, Airport Pickup Volunteer, or CRA Volunteer). Applicants must provide a reference letter from a non-family member (teacher, coach, instructor, guidance counsellor, employer, or mentor) who can speak to how the applicant meets the award criteria. This scholarship was established by Connie Ding, who joined UPEI in 2019 from China and completed her Master of Education in 2021. She now works as an International Student Recruiter and Advisor at UPEI's International Relations Office. Having experienced exceptional support from UPEI's faculty and staff during her own studies, Connie established this award to inspire and empower international students, fostering a sense of belonging, supporting their academic and personal success, and helping them prepare for rewarding careers.
