About this opportunity
The ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholarships for Engineering were established in 2016 through an annual gift by ConocoPhillips Australia Operations Pty Ltd. The scholarships provide $10,000 AUD to outstanding undergraduate engineering students at The University of Queensland who demonstrate academic excellence and alignment with ConocoPhillips' SPIRIT values.
The scholarships are available to domestic students enrolled full-time in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering, or dual engineering programs who have completed 12-27 units. Preference is given to students in chemical, electrical, mechanical, or mechatronic engineering disciplines.
Recipients may also be offered career mentoring, ambassadorial roles, and vacation employment opportunities at ConocoPhillips sites during the scholarship tenure. Selection is based on academic achievement, understanding of ConocoPhillips' SPIRIT values, interest in pursuing a career in the energy industry, leadership potential, and personal qualities relevant to success in the engineering profession.
Up to 2 scholarships are awarded annually, with the scholarship providing support for 1 year. Applications open January 15 and close March 1, 2026, and shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
