About this opportunity
This grant is available to first and second-period students from historically marginalized and excluded communities enrolled in apprenticeship programs at NAIT. Eligible communities include Aboriginal students, women and/or gender minorities in male-dominated programs, 2SLGBTQIA+ students, students with a prolonged or persistent disability, single-parents or children of single-parents, visible minorities or racialized people. The grant supports students in Carpenter, Ironworker, Insulator, Millwright, Plumber, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, Roofer Sheet Metal Worker, Steamfitter-Pipefitter and Welder apprenticeship programs. Six awards are available for each intake, with five intakes annually (30 total awards per year). Selection is based on a written statement detailing the applicant's personal journey to post-secondary education and satisfactory academic achievement.
