Cordwainers Archive Award

The Cordwainers Archive Award is a financial prize of £1500 awarded to a final year student on the BA Cordwainers Footwear Course at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. This award is given in return for a piece of their collection to be acquired for prosperity for the LCF Archives. The award helps to fund the students' main final major project and is designed to support students who demonstrate academic merit and commercial acumen required to succeed within the footwear industry upon graduation. The Cordwainers' Company Archive currently has a varied collection of nearly 700 items of historical footwear ranging from the late 18th to late 20th centuries. Through purchase, gift and donation, this collection of contemporary footwear continues to grow and capture the innovative design, construction and manufacture processes of accomplished students and alumni. Based at the Stratford Campus, the archive serves to support both teaching and research of footwear design and construction.
