About this opportunity
The Corinne Burton Art Therapy Student Scholarship is offered through the generosity of the Trustees of the Corinne Burton Memorial Trust for full-time and part-time students of Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths, University of London. The scholarship was established in memory of Corinne Burton, a talented artist who died in 1992 after suffering from cancer. The Trust aims to further art therapy work in the field of cancer care.
The successful recipient must hold UK resident status and have received an unconditional offer on the MA in Art Psychotherapy. A unique requirement of this scholarship is that recipients must undertake part of their clinical placement in a hospice or working with cancer patients, and commit to practicing art therapy with cancer patients for two years following program completion.
The award covers up to 60% of home tuition fees for each year of study, plus £5,500 per annum for two years post-graduation as a part-time salary while working as an art therapist in a hospital or cancer clinic. This creates a comprehensive support package spanning both study and early career development in cancer care settings.
