About This Opportunity

A scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time female graduate student enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in the Faculty of Mathematics on the basis of academic excellence in their studies and/or research. The value of the award will be determined by the income generated by the fund each year, however, the goal is to provide at least one award valued at $3,000 annually. The award is made possible by a $100,000 donation from Cathy and Paul Cotton to assist female Waterloo scholars in their pursuit of advanced degrees in mathematics. Students are selected automatically by the Faculty or Department, with awards typically distributed in the Spring term.
