Cougar Pride Scholarship - Freshmen

The Cougar Pride Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for first-year freshmen admitted to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Students with a cumulative 3.0 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) are eligible for consideration. Award amounts are tiered based on GPA: 3.0-3.24 receives $2,000/year; 3.25-3.49 receives $2,500/year; 3.5-3.74 receives $3,000/year; 3.75-3.99 receives $3,500/year; and 4.0 receives $4,000/year. The scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years, providing a total award of up to $16,000 over the course of undergraduate study. This award is offered exclusively to new first-year freshmen enrolling for the fall term. No separate scholarship application is required, as the admission application automatically serves as the scholarship application. Students are automatically considered based on their completed General Application.
